How to Make the Perfect Scones - Part One

Cotswold private tours

This is an old recipe my mother passed down to me for making the perfect scone. I have made these so many times, I've got this down to 8 minutes prep time now. My children timed me!

If you are wanting to make these and you don't live in the UK, I am not sure how you go about sourcing the clotted cream, to enjoy with the scones. Next best plan though is to find some extra thick whipped cream. That will be just as delicious, I am sure.

Ingredients are:

8oz Self Raising Flour

1 teaspoon Baking Powder

2oz Butter or margarine

1/4 pint of full fat or semi skimmed milk

1 egg
